Tien Tran
Tien Tran has spent more than 15 years in libraries, starting as a special collections assistant and working in library systems in Madison (WI), Providence, and now Exeter, where he serves as Library Director and enthusiastic wetlands adventurer. He takes inspiration from the library’s resident beaver spirit: collaborative, hardworking, and community-minded. An avid indoor and outdoor gardener, he also coordinates Grow RI Native Seeds, a statewide initiative bringing native seeds to local public libraries across Rhode Island. Tien believes in the power of libraries to create abundance and transform lives, and in the joy of bringing good people together around meaningful work.Member At Large
Katherine Boden
Katherine Boden is the Emerging Technologies Librarian at the Cranston Public Library. Her first job was working at the Exeter Public Library at the age of 17 and she has loved working at libraries ever since. In college, she worked at the University of Rhode Island's Special Collections and decided to pursue librarianship receiving her MLIS from URI in 2013. After working at the Cranston Public Library for her internship, she began as their Digital Literacy Team Leader where she helped increase technology instruction and workforce development programs through the All Access grant. In 2014, she became their Emerging Technologies Librarian where she continues to coordinate the library's 3D printing, media preservation, and technology instruction services in the C-Lab. In her spare time, Katherine likes to watch movies for the library movie group she runs, go on hikes, and squeeze in travel whenever she can.
