Attend a free public screening of the documentary film “Citzenfour” on Sunday, January 31 at 1:30 pm at Barrington Public Library. This Academy Award winning film is about whistleblower Edward Snowden and the documents he leaked in 2013 to two journalists that exposed the massive surveillance efforts of the NSA.
Before the film, there will be a demo of Tor browser, featured in the documentary and used by Edward Snowden and journalists Laura Poitras and Glenn Greenwald. Tor network is a group of volunteer operated servers that allows people to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The demo and time for Q&A will be led by Nima Fatemi of The Tor Project and The Library Freedom Project.
The film is rated R and is 114 minutes in length. This free public screening is sponsored by Friends of Barrington Public Library and Rhode Island Library Association.
