The Cumberland Public Library is pleased to announce several recent staffing changes. Following the retirement of longtime Director Celeste Dyer in June, Jacob Lotter has stepped into the role of Library Director after previously serving as Assistant Director/Technology Coordinator. In August, Kyle Lee Sousa joined the library as the new Assistant Director/Technology Coordinator, bringing experience from libraries in Barrington, Tiverton, Portsmouth, and Stonehill College. Kelsey Breen has also accepted a new role as Programming and Marketing Librarian after joining Cumberland in 2021 as a Reference Assistant and spending the past several years working in Adult Services at the Pawtucket Public Library.
The library also celebrates Elizabeth Karageorge, who retired in August after an incredible 47 years of service. Elizabeth began as a Page at the Valley Falls Branch in 1979 and went on to work in nearly every area of the library, including serving as Circulation Supervisor and, for the past 30 years, Adult Services Coordinator. She will be greatly missed by both staff and patrons, and we wish her all the best in retirement.
